Subscription Boxes Are The New Retail Playground

You may have seen them, or better yet, signed up for them. Subscription boxes came onto the scene several years ago and have been gaining steam ever since. From zero waste supplies to goodies for your dog, or even the latest in beauty, subscription services are only getting better with time. Increased flexibility in delivery and tailored packages are what draw so many people around the world to these services. According to Mckinsey, “the median number of subscriptions an active subscriber holds is two, but nearly 35 percent have three or more”. As shoppers utilize online convenience for retail, subscription boxes are only on the up and up. In this report by Fast Company, they note that the e-commerce subscription industry was valued at just $57 million in 2011, and swelled to just over $2.5 Billion in 2016. With these numbers, many brands will want to jump on the bandwagon.
